Dear Friend of Faith,
We begin each year by trying to answer the questions"Why are we here, Where are we going, and How do you fit in?" We believe wise stewardship involves careful planning.
The initiatives below are the product of many men and women workinghard to identify key opportunities for your church family this year. Iwould encourage you to keep this document where you have your personalBible study and prayer time. Please review it often and ask God tohelp us serve Him well together.

Faith Baptist Church 2010 Initiatives
Growing Stronger
- Study the book of 1 Corinthians in our Sunday morning services that challenge our church family to identify and take the next steps in their spiritual journey
- Emphasize the importance of individual and corporate prayer by:
- Devoting our ABF lessons in January to this vital subject to equip and challenge our members to greater faithfulness in their individual prayer lives.
- Encouraging ministry leaders at all levels of our church to consider how/where vibrant prayer should fit into their particular ministry.
- Developing more consistent participation in the monthly prayer meetings hosted by TEAMM, Tippecanoe Evangelical Association of Ministers and Ministries.
- Creating a consistent prayer ministry integrated with the annual ministry calendar
- Establishing a prayer group to especially pray for the planning, developing, and fundraising for our two ministry centers at Purdue and our campus.
- Develop new lay counseling classes and explore ways to make them more accessible
- Develop an FCI class on Ken Sande’s book, The Peacemaker
- Establish a comprehensive children’s and youth discipleship program
- Completely upgrade our church web site and adopt the use of other social networking tools to enhance communication and relationship building among our church family.
Reaching Out
- Consider launching a quarterly electronic newsletter highlighting various aspects of our missions program
- Review and develop additional evangelism training classes
- Develop a section of our new church web site focused on first time electronic visitors, including those who may not know the Lord.
- Consider revamping and renaming the “Project Jerusalem” ministry to our new neighbors who move in around us
- Review and reemphasize “Adopt a College Student” ministry
Serving Together
- Review and improve oversight and relationship building at the skate park, The LOFT, Family Fun Nights, 1st Friday and other Community Center programs to accomplish the mission for which the Community Center was built
- Review and redesign the church bulletin
- Update site drainage master plan to accommodate all anticipated construction on State Road 26 site for the next five years
- Launch the “Spreading the Word” capital campaign.
Meeting Needs
- Create a Community Impact Committee to interface with organizations like Trinity Mission, Habitat for Humanity, Matrix Services, Shepherd’s Ministry, Baptist Children’s Home, and the Red Cross
- Review and improve indoor and outdoor sports opportunities for people of all ages, with the desire to get to know our neighbors better
- Continue to develop partnerships with area churches to offer a ministry to homeless families
- Train and develop additional leaders for our Lafayette Community Skate Park ministry
- Determine the scope of special needs services that Faith Christian School should seek to provide
Strengthening Others
- Begin the process of accreditation for Faith Bible Seminary
- Review and update all counseling training lectures and assignments
- Establish a committee to suggest and implement upgrades to our church website
- Make teaching and counseling resources on the internet more accessible
- Work to develop a Biblical Counseling Coalition of other churches, schools, counseling centers, and individuals interested in or committed to promoting excellence in biblical counseling.
- Consider the possibility of offering consulting services for churches who are starting counseling ministries
