There are three important features of this conference. First, this seminar will be highly interactive; your participation is vitally important. Each of our presentations will be short and highly directed followed by an open floor Q & A session. For example, Pastor Viars will present on the legal questions of a counseling ministry followed by a 30 minute Q & A period about legal concerns. Since every session includes a presentation and a Q & A, having a list of questions will be very important.
Second, our conference begins on Monday at 5:00 pm so you can be exposed to our counseling ministry. From 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm you will be able to sit-in on live (or taped) counseling cases. This will give you a glimpse of how we organize the ministry and what the counseling “looks like” when folks come for help.
Third, we will be covering a wide range of topics on Tuesday necessary to beginning a counseling ministry. Topics discussed will include (1) the appropriate philosophy regarding counseling ministries; (2) the key steps along the way; (3) choosing and developing leaders; (4) the crucial and influential involvement of lay leadership; (5) legal matters in counseling and so much more.
