Community Clothing Closet
 

Faith Community Center Clothing Closet is an outreach program that provides clothing to members of our community who have an immediate need. Some of these needs may include: financial distress through the loss of income, the loss of a home through flood, fire or tornado, or to meet the need of children having been removed from their home as a protective measure.


NOW ACCEPTING DONATIONS!

The Clothing Closet will be filled with donated new or gently used clothing. Donated clothing may come from corporate retail donations, government programs or personal gifts to the Closet. Volunteers may serve in clothing collection, laundering, sorting, or helping staff the Closet at specific times to accommodate community members with appointments. The Closet will be available primarily through referral by the Red Cross, Single Mom Ministry, Faith Biblical Counseling Ministry, the pastors or the deacons.

SPECIFIC CLOTHING NEEDS AT THIS TIME:

  • Maternity clothes
  • Infants and Small Children
  • Boys clothes ***SPECIAL NEED***
We are currently excepting new and gently used clothes. Cash donations are also always welcome. Donations can be dropped off at the Community Center during normal business hours.

Clothing Closet Hours

Hours: The Clothing Closet-Food Pantry is open on Tuesday, from 9:00A.M. to 1:00P.M. and from 4:00P.M. to 8:00P.M.

Store Attendants: Will need at least two store attendants during these open hours.

Clothes Processors: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday during open Community Center Hours.

Quarterly Clothes Processors: Available to serve on a Saturday morning, once a quarter for special clothes day distributions.

Clothing Closet Store Attendants

Job Summary: To assist clothing closet referrals with selecting three sets of clothing per approved family member from inventory, during open days and shifts.

Duties: Welcome and greet referee. Confirm appointment. Complete Clothing Closet Introductory Form. Check picture identification. Assist in selecting clothing from inventory. Prepare inventory adjustment form. Collect hangers. Bag clothing items. Schedule return appointment in 90 days. Re-stock store. Maintain a visually pleasing store.

Responsibilities: Maintain a loving and professional image to customers. Follow all Clothing Closet policies and procedures in a positive manner. Communicate any issues or concerns to leadership. Treat shoppers with respect and dignity.

Specifications: Like to work with people. Willing to work in a team environment. Good communication skills.

Clothing Closet Appointment Schedulers

Job Summary: To make appointments for referees to shop in the clothing closet.

Duties: Receive phone messages, e/mail messages, or fax messages from referral agent for the first Clothing Closet visit.

Responsibilities: Return all messages on a timely basis. Maintain a professional demeaor. Keep appointments organized. Follow-up on appointments to insure attendance.

Specifications: Excellent follow-up skills. Detail oriented and organized. Good communication skills. Minimum computer skills. Dependable.

Clothing Closet Clothes Processors

Will need regularly scheduled and emergency processors.

Job Summary: Process all incoming donated clothing to Clothing Closet.

Duties: Move clothing into processing area. Sort out usable clothing vs. non-usable clothing. If necessary, launder any clothing that is in good shape, but just needs laundering. Organize all clothing by sex and size. Record into inventory all clothing received. Place usable inventory into closet or designated totes for future use. Rebag unusable inventory for pickup/delivery to other non-profit agencies.

Responsibilities: Ensure clothing is in a presentable condition. Launder if necessary. Maintain organized inventory.

Specifications: Ability to lift and sort clothing. Ability to operate a washer and dryer if necessary. Ability to sort and organize clothing.

Clothing Closet Quarterly Assistants

Job Summary: Assist with Saturday Quarterly Clothing Give-aways.

Duties: Assist with set-up of clothing

Responsibilities: Assist with enforcing control measures or clothing limits that are put into place.

Specifications: Ability to move clothing into place. Friendly. Enjoy being around a lot of people.
