Q. How does the online Serving Profile differ from the Serving Opportunities brochure?
A. Both forms represent the same information. The online Serving Profile is a live record of your information; the Serving Opportunities brochure is simply another way for you to tell us your interests and skills.
Q. How will my Serving Profile be used to match me with serving opportunities?
A. Each serving opportunity can have a unique combination of qualifications. When a ministry leader requests a list of candidates for a serving opportunity, he /she is presented with a list of people who completely or partially meet the qualifications. Members who meet the most qualifications typically get the first opportunity to serve in that area. This method allows members to get matched with the serving opportunities that are the best fit for them, allowing them to serve with passion and excellence. We believe this is one way to put I Corinthians 12 into action at Faith.
Q. Do I have to fill out the Availability or Testimony boxes?
A. All fields are optional.
Q. I updated my Serving Profile, but nobody has contacted me about serving opportunities yet. Why?
A. It's possible that your profile has not been one of the top matches for any opportunities that have become available lately. But if you are eager to serve and have not been contacted, consider approaching a ministry leader about upcoming opportunities. A list of ministry opportunities and leaders is available here.
Q. How often should I update my Serving Profile?
A. Opportunities can become available at any time. We recommend updating your Serving Profile anytime your skills or interests change. As unique opportunities arise the Serving Profile will be updated to reflect those needs.
Q. Who can see my Serving Profile?
A. Only ministry leaders and employees have access to Serving Profiles. So indicating that you are skilled in carpentry will not result in dozens of members calling for your services.
