Homeward Bound 5K

Vision of Hope participated in a statewide initiative to help end homelessness called Homeward Bound on April 10, 2010.

Although Vision of Hope is not a homeless shelter, it is designed to help treat some of the many issues that eventually lead to homelessness like drug and alcohol abuse, eating disorders, self-harm, and unplanned pregnancies.

During the Homeward Bound fundraiser many community agencies came together to work as a team to put on a fundraiser.  Each agency recruited walkers and teams that raised funds exclusively for their agencies.  Corporate sponsors made it possible to not only put on this event at no cost, but also to raise significant general funds that benefitted all the participating agencies.

This year 12 walking teams raised money exclusively for Vision of Hope.  At the present count it appears that Vision of Hope will have raised about $21,000 - $22,000 from this event.  We are so thankful for the successful day raising funds to offset program costs.

Vision of Hope's program is provided at no cost to girls or their families.  Events like this help make it possible.  For further information about the day and to view pictures please follow this link.
