Weekly Events
Sunday Morning Classes:
- Focus: Teaching God’s word in practical and relevant ways.
- Impact (grades 9-12): meets at 9:30 a.m. in the Community Center Multi-purpose room and 11 a.m. in the Vision of Hope Home. (Enter the main doors.) VOH is located east of the Community Center.
Wednesdays - Options
9th Graders
- Girls will meet at the L.O.F.T. then be transported to the Woodall’s (82 Scarborough Ct., Lafayette, In. 47905) for a great time of Bible study, serving projects, crafts, and girl talk.
- Guys will meet at the L.O.F.T. and have fun together doing serving projects, games, Bible study and guy stuff.
10th-12th Graders – You have Options!
- Serve as a helper in Wed. Night Kids of Faith – This can be a semester or year long commitment of helping in a particular class. Requirements include FBC membership, willingness to fulfill the helpers role, and a love for kids.
- Take Faith Community Institute Classes with Adults – You sign up for the applicable FCI class and participate faithfully in order to grow spiritually and associate with adults of all ages. Go to: http://www.faithlafayette.org/ministry2.aspx and click on the FCI brochure.
- Student Ministry Serving Team – This is new. Meet right outside the L.O.F.T. in the Community Center. The serving team will be lining up and completing serving projects in the church and community on Wednesdays .
- Student Ministry Follow-up Team. This group will be following up with those who visit our Student Ministries.
- Ladies can join the others at the Woodall’s
Saturday Nights – “LIFELINE”
Summer Missions In Teen Evangelism (S.M.I.T.E)
Each year our Student Ministry takes a trip in the Uniteds States or elsewhere around the world to share the gospel and serve others in an effort to better understand and fulfill the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20.
Each 9th-12th grade student must qualify by faithfully study God’s Word, Praying, Worshipping, Serving in a ministry of the local church, loving family members, and sharing the gospel…being a Christ-follower.
This year SMITE will be traveling to Chimbote, Peru on July 11-22, 2009 to minister with Pastor Steve Stilwell and his family. The trip cost is: $1,150. Training Times will be Wed. nights from 8:30-9:30 p.m. starting Feb. 18th in the LOFT. Applications are due on Feb 1st.
