LS 105 Basic Computer Skills

Schedule:  4 weeks, Mar. 3 - Mar. 24

Fees: $10.00 to be paid at the FBC office to reserve your place

Course Description:  This class is a beginner computer class and will start with the basics of turning your computer on, learning toolbars, and interacting with all those dialog windows. The instructor will show you how to organize where you save your files so it is easy to find your information. This class will cover the basics of what an operating system does versus how the Microsoft Office applications may perform. Safely navigating the Internet and finding items you were searching for on the internet will round out the topics discussed in this course.

LS 115 Basic Microsoft Word

Course Description:  Learn the basic skills to operate Microsoft Word.

Instructors:  Andy Milam and Steve Wanner.  Andy Milam is the Information Technology Director for the City of Lafayette, IN.  Steve Wanner works in the Clinical Infrastructure Services at Clarian Health.

LS 123 Basic Microsoft Excel

Course Description:  Learn the basic skills to operate Microsoft Excel.

LS 160 The Power of Twitter
Schedule: 1 week, offered twice – Apr. 7 or May 19
Fees:  No cost
Course Description:  Twitter is one of the fastest growing social media websites.  Come to learn what it is, how it got so big so fast, and how you can benefit from it.  Feel free to bring your laptop and/or cell phone so you can harness the power of Twitter and take part in a live online interaction demonstration.

Instructor:  Jonathan Smith.  Jonathan is the Director of Technology at Faith, and he also serves as a deacon at Faith. 

LS 127 Beginner's Guide to Facebook
Schedule:  1 week, offered twice - Mar. 31 or May 12
Fees:  No cost
Course Description:  Not familiar with the terms “social networking” or “Facebook?”  This class will give people who are curious about Facebook, but know nothing about it, an overview of the many purposes and possibilities of the social networking tool called Facebook.

Homework:  None
Instructor:  Mark Zwolanek.  Mark Zwolanek is a network support technician and writes videogame reviews for Digital Entertainment News.
