LS 226 Dealing with Debt

Schedule: 4 weeks, March 5 – March 26

Fees: $10.00 materials cost

Course Description:  “What does the Bible say about debt?”  “How much (if any) is too much?”  “What can you do about debt now that you are in it?”  Answers to these questions and more are explained in this course.  Furthermore, you will prepare your own personal budget in a way to know where you might be overspending. 

Instructor: Lucky Neiburger.  Lucky Neiburger is the President of Debt Doctors, Inc.  Lucky also serves as a deacon at Faith.

LS 230 Before You Buy or Sell Your Home

Schedule: 3 weeks, April 2 – April 16

Fees:  No Cost

Course Description:  “I didn’t expect that cost!”  “We are in over our heads!”  These kinds of statements are heard too often from home buyers who didn’t understand all that they were getting into.  This class will help answer questions like, “Am I ready and prepared to buy a home?”  and “How will I avoid the mistakes that people make when buying a home?”  You really can start off on a solid foundation before you buy your home. This class also addresses questions dealing with selling a home, such as, “How do I know what my house is worth in today’s market?” or “What do I need to do to get my house ready to sell?”

LS 232 The Basics of Financial Investing

Schedule: 8 weeks, April 2 – May 21

Fees:  No Cost

Course Description:  Introduction to Investing is designed to help individuals gain a basic understanding of the world of investing.  You will learn investment terminology, investment and risk management strategies.  You will also learn about the basics of financial and retirement planning as well as succession planning. 

Homework:  Simple weekly assignments

Instructor: Tim Catron.  Tim Catron is a Financial Adviser with Smith Barney since 1983.  He is a CFP (Certified Financial Planner) and a CRPS (Chartered Retirement Planning Specialist).  Tim is a FBC Deacon who teaches 5th grade Sunday school with his wife Debra and they reside in West Lafayette with their 4 children.
