 PG 230 Life After Divorce

Schedule:  6 weeks, Apr. 14 - May 19

Fees:  $10.00 materials cost; course materials can be purchased through the Faith Resource Center.

Course Description:  “How do I handle being alone again?”  “How do I relate to my former spouse?”  “What does the Bible say about remarriage?”  This class is designed to assist people in overcoming the pain, anger, and loneliness of divorce. The course study guide is Life After Divorce, by Robert D. Smith, M.D.

Instructors:  Arvid & Edris Olson.  Arvid Olson is Faith’s Director of Development; Arvid also serves as a deacon at Faith.  Edris Olson is Director of Counseling for Faith Biblical Counseling Ministries.

 

PG 280 Dealing with Depression
Schedule:  4 weeks, Mar. 3 - Mar. 24

Fees:  No cost

Course Description:  “Nobody understands my situation!”  “Why am I always down?”  “Why do I always see the negative in everything?”  “I can’t shake these feelings.”  If you have had thoughts like these or know somebody who has, you are most likely dealing with a manifestation of depression.  Dr. Dan Wickert will be taking a medical and biblical look at tools to help you or a loved one deal with depression.

PG 250 Dealing with Anger - NEW!

Course Description:  What is anger? We all experience it. It seems so natural. It eats at us and shows itself in so many different ways: coldness, sarcasm, yelling, rage, self-injury, disrespect, abuse, and silence...Do we have to just keep a tight lid on it, so it does not overflow? Yet anger is one of God's holy attributes. We as his image-bearers have the capacity for godly anger. This course, based upon Paul Tripp’s DVD series helps the individual transform anger into constructive problem solving that actually begins to solve problems.

LS 145 Job Loss Networking - NEW!

Course Description:  Are you seeking employment?  You are not alone!  Job loss can be an opportunity for growth or a time of great pain and frustration.  This class will support you during this difficult time with friendship, practical training, prayer, and instruction on how to view this trial in a way that pleases God and helps you enjoy life.

BC 203 Lay Counseling Series - NEW!
Schedule:  6 weeks, Mar. 3 - Apr. 7
Fees:  No cost
Course Description:  This class will finish our first cycle of counseling courses necessary for NANC certification.  This six week course will focus particularly on helping those who are experiencing painful difficulties in their lives including medical difficulties, helping those who are on various psychotropic medications and those struggling with sexual sin.  In addition, the last two weeks of the course will be spent discussing case studies.  This will be a helpful class to those who wish to formal counseling and to those who wish to be a spiritual friend to those in their circle of influence.

Instructors:  Dr. Bob Smith and Rob Green.  Bob Smith, M.D. retired, is Chairman of the Deacons at Faith.  Rob Green is the Pastor of Counseling and Seminary Ministries at Faith.
 

PG 270 Leaning on God When Life Hurts
Schedule: 6 weeks, Mar. 3 - Apr. 7

Fees:  No cost

Course Description:  Are you facing the death of a loved one?  Diagnosis of a major illness?  Loss of a job?  Trials?  Everybody faces them.  Everybody struggles.  Why do they happen?  Where is God in the trials?  How can I trust Him?  This class, taught by Kevitt Brown who has faced a major trial in his life, will help you or a loved one better handle life’s difficulties by learning how to draw closer to God through the trial.

Instructor: Kevitt Brown.  Kevitt Brown is an agronomist at FFR Cooperative.  Kevitt also serves as a deacon at Faith.
