Spanish Department
With each consecutive level of Spanish, students increase their knowledge of and fluency in Spanish. All students use Spanish in practical Christian disciplines, such as memorizing Scriptures and learning the “Romans Road” in Spanish, beginning to pray and worship in Spanish, and attending a Spanish church service. They also must eat at a Hispanic restaurant, watch some Spanish movies and write a report. They study famous Hispanics and cultures of Spanish-speaking countries, including planning “trips” to various cities.
Second-year students prepare Spanish food and enjoy it in class. Advanced students are also required to do a yearlong project. Each level is devoted to demonstrating how the Spanish culture and language help us understand God’s love for the world with all its languages and diversity.
