Book: The Rare Jewel of Christian Contentment, Jeremiah Burroughs (recommended, but not required)

Description: Contentment is a word infrequently used in Scripture, but the concept is deeply woven into its pages. It’s a virtue that Paul, writing from prison and awaiting possible execution, said he had learned the secret of. Like Paul, none of us are born contented. We live in a world where satisfaction is elusive and outrage can be explosive. Our hearts can benefit from learning what God’s Word has to say about the mystery of contentment.

Bio

Adam and his wife Gabriela have 4 children and have been members since 2003. He teaches in the Peacemakers ABF class and periodically during FCI. He serves on the Northend Community Center Care Team and is an ex-officio member of the Faith CDC board. Adam has served as Homeless and Community Outreach for the City of Lafayette since 2008 after 8 years of non-profit affordable housing work.
