Course Description: The exile is one of the most significant events in the history of the nation of Israel. God sent prophets to his people for over 200 years warning them. If they did not turn back to Him and worship Him wholly and exclusively, that He would send them into exile. Ultimately, they refused and God sent the Babylonians to defeat them and take them captive. But could this be the end of the nation, and an already promised descendent of David who would reign forever? In this class we will see God’s continuing work as He brings His people back to the land. This opens the way that eventually leads to the events chronicled in the NT. We will also see that sin has not been eradicated. Again, God sends prophets to His people welcoming them back but also calling them to obedience.
