Fitness Center & Pool Rules

Faith Community Fitness Center Rules

  1. You must be an active Fitness Center member or purchase a guest pass to gain admittance to the Fitness Center.
  2. Children, age 12 and under, are not allowed in the Fitness Center.
  3. Fitness Center members, age 13-17, must have a consent form signed by their parent and a family physician on record at Faith Community Center before entering the Fitness Center and may use the facility unsupervised, provided that there are no discipline issues. If disciplined, they must be accompanied by a parent on future visits.
  4. Please wipe down equipment after each use with the cleaning products provided by the hallway exit doors.
  5. Gym bags and coats are not permitted in exercise areas. Do not leave valuables unattended. Locker rooms are provided for your convenience. Please bring a lock to secure your belongings in a locker and remove when finished (do not leave overnight.) Any items left behind will be discarded. Faith Community Center is not responsible for lost or stolen goods.
  6. Please refrain from use of profanity. Failure to do so could result in loss of access to the facility.
  7. Dressing modestly is expected. Proper attire must be worn at all times. No sandals, work boots or bare feet are allowed in the Fitness Center at any time. Blue jeans are unsafe to wear while using treadmills and bikes.
  8. Please replace your weights. Equipment is not to be left on machines or on the floor. Please do not lean weights on machines or walls.
  9. No food or drinks are allowed in the workout areas, with the exception of water bottles.
  10. Use a spotter when lifting with free weights.
  11. Be courteous during peak hours. Limit use of cardio equipment to 30 minutes. Continue to next weight station if doing more than one set.
  12. Collars are mandatory on all barbells (weight clips.)
  13. Report all injuries and equipment/facility irregularities immediately to a staff person. An incident report must be completed.
  14. Weights must be controlled down and are not to be dropped or banged during or at the conclusion of repetitions.
  15. Equipment in the fitness center may not be taken out of the center for personal use. Due to liability concerns, privately owned fitness equipment is not to be used at Faith Community Center.
  16. Please only watch TV shows and channels that are appropriate for everyone in the Fitness Center, including 13-17 year olds.

Faith Community Pool Rules

  1. Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent or other adult age 18 or older. Teens 13-18 years old may swim unaccompanied, but cannot supervise a younger child.
  2. Children (regardless of age) are not permitted in the opposite sex locker room at any time.
  3. Anyone who has or has had diarrhea in the last two (2) weeks shall not use the pool.
  4. Anyone who has an area of exposed sub-epidermal tissue, open blisters, cuts, etc… is advised not to use the pool.
  5. All persons shall take a cleansing shower before using the pool. A swimmer leaving the pool to use the toilet shall take another cleansing shower before returning to the pool enclosure.
  6. Spitting, spouting of water, blowing the nose, and similar behavior in the pool is prohibited.
  7. No running or rough play is permitted in or around the pool, on floats, in dressing/locker rooms, or in showers.
  8. Street clothes are not allowed in the pool.
  9. All diaper aged children are required to use swim diapers.
  10. Do not change diapers at pool side.
  11. Food and drinks are prohibited in the pool area, with the exception of water bottles.
  12. Rough play is not allowed.  Please respect our lifeguard’s authority, and respond appropriately if a lifeguard asks you or your children to stop an activity.
