Robert's Rules of Order

Course Description: This class will focus on the very informative book, “Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised IN BRIEF.” The book is available on Amazon and we will read through most of it for this class. Robert’s Rules have been used since the early 1900’s as a guide for conducting a wide range of business meetings from town council meetings to church business meetings and social club meetings. They all need some structural rules to follow. We serve our Heavenly Father who is a God of great design and order. The Bible talks about doing things in an orderly manner. "But all things must be done properly and in an orderly manner." (1 Corinthians 14:40) Colonel Henry Martyn Robert wrote up the first rules with the goal of guiding these meetings so the voice of the minority would be heard and the will of the majority executed. We will learn the basics of these rules and then practice following them in various meeting scenarios.
