A Life of Wisdom: Six Proverbs for Practical Living

Course Description: Solomon teaches in Proverbs 1:7 that, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge. Fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Surely no follower of Christ would desire to be labeled a “fool.” And so in this course, we will seek to grow in a life of godly wisdom by surveying the book of Proverbs as a whole and then understanding and applying six key passages to our lives.

Passages Covered:

1. Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.
2. Proverbs 4:23 - Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life.
3. Proverbs 6:6 - Go to the ant, O sluggard, Observe her ways and be wise.
4. Proverbs 13:20 - He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will suffer harm.
5. Proverbs 26:4-5 - Do not answer a fool according to his folly, Or you will also be like him. Answer a fool as his folly deserves, That he not be wise in his own eyes.
6. Proverbs 28:13 - He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper, But he who confesses and forsakes them will find compassion.
