Naoto and his wife, Erisa, grew up in Japan. They met in Los Angeles and got married in 2014. Although they spent most of their adult lives in the US, the Lord gave them a desire to minister to the people in Japan. They both earned a degree in biblical counseling at The Master's University. Naoto enjoyed the M.Div. program at The Master's Seminary for two years, but in 2019, the Lord led him to transfer to Faith Bible Seminary to receive more biblical counseling training while pursuing his M.Div.

He currently serves as a pastoral intern under Pastor Aaron Birk in the international ministry and global missions. He also serves as one of Faith West musical worship leaders. Naoto and Erisa have two sons: Toshiki and Subaru. Their desire is to make disciples of Jesus in Japan through local-church ministries, with the emphasis on church planting and biblical counseling.
