Eagle Day

Eagle Day is always a fun day here at FCS. It involves a Jog-A-Thon during the school day, a family carnival (Eagle Fair) at night, and a Kid K race during the Eagle Fair. The entire day is built to deepen community among FCS families and provide a fun way of supporting Faith Christian School.

What is Jog-A-Thon?

It is an event during the school day on Friday May 18 where each class has 20-30 minutes to complete as many laps around the Jog-A-Thon track as they can. We’ll have live music, some games to keep it fun, and other students along the course cheering on each group of runners. 6 laps around the track makes one mile. The track is in the parking lot, between FCS and the Faith East Community Center.

Why do we do Jog-A-thon?

Spring is a great time to get active. Throughout April, we are encouraging “Active, Healthy April” or AHA month here at FCS. In conjunction with getting active and healthy, we provide a way for friends and family to support FCS. This will be our second year of this event and last year it was a hit.

How do we raise money through Jog-A-thon?

From April 11 – May 2 students will be able to request support from friends and family to sponsor the student for a certain number of laps, or a flat fee for participating in the Jog-A-thon. We’ll provide each student with sponsor sheets that they can distribute in raising sponsorships. The sponsor sheet explains the Jog-A-Thon, its goals, and how the students will be involved. Our goal for this fundraiser this year is $55,000. Every dollar raised will be funneled right back into the fulfilling the mission of Faith Christian School.

What does Jog-A-Thon day look like?

On Friday, May 18 we will have normal school hours. The students will enjoy a day of class, a special lunch (we’ll send an order form home in the week of April 30), a time of stretching with a physical trainer, running on the Jog-A-Thon track, and a time to cool down and cheer on other students. Parents and family are welcome to come cheer on their student(s).
